***I’m now estimating the book will be out in Jan 2016. :) Estimates are estimates so that date could be off, but I’m feeling good about this one!
I’m currently working on Wolf in the House, but it’s been slow going. (I work on multiple books at a time, because if I didn’t, I’d never finish any of them.) HOWEVER, I’m hopeful I’ll have the book published by the end of the year. I have two other books to finish first, and then I’ll be able to devote myself to finishing this one. I’m behind on the other two books for my main pen name and that’s why I’ve taken so long to get Wolf in the House completed. It’s not a surprise to me that this is the case. I am a very slow writer compared to some and I just have to do my best. :)
I’ll post updates about my progress to this page if you’d like, and I’ll definitely post the news to the site when the book is done.
Lots! Okay, here goes me trying to quantify that reply into something meaningful.
If I have my way and the books sell well enough that I don’t have to starve while I write them, I’ll be writing at least 12. If I’m lucky, I’ll also turn to writing books for the Barker boys. :) (If I don’t eventually get to write a book for Hale Barker, I might have to go hide in a room and cry. He’s a bit of an ass, but boy, could I see a story for him being so much fun to write.)
I can also see myself writing books for a few of the werewolves of the Reave pack that aren’t actual Reaves, so that knocks the count just a little bit higher too. I’d say when all is said and done, I could easily write 20 books in this series. The world will grow and I’ll probably have so many ideas for books that I won’t know what to do with them all. This is something I’m used to. I love series. I love watching them expand. I love revisiting favorite characters from previous books to see how their lives are going. I just… love it all.
Will I write a story for Boston? Absolutely! I’ll definitely be writing a story for Boston—although I’ll probably be “co-writing” it with myself because I believe some people who read my other books might specifically be interested in Boston’s book even if they’re not into the rest of this series.
Which brings up the question: Does it count as co-writing if you’re doing it with yourself?
Which is kind of like asking if it’s sex if you’re doing it with yourself. Ellie would answer that one with a resounding “yes”! Jane would probably disagree.
Anyway, yes, Boston will definitely have a story, barring terrible unforeseen events that prevent me from writing it. I already love him so much and wouldn’t dream of leaving him out in the cold. :)
Do you have a question you’d like me to answer? Reply with a comment or just send me an email. I’ll be happy to answer! :)
Ellie’s just found out she’s supposed to marry Bastien Reave, one of Bar Reave’s twelve hot—and creepy as hell—grandsons. It’s a ridiculous marriage contract, one she’s sure can’t be enforced, but Bar Reave is one scary old man. There’s only one thing to do—pay back the money that changed hands when her grandma signed that damn contract.
Bastien Reave has just come back to town to take his rightful place in the Reave pack as the future alpha, and although their impending marriage is news to his future bride, he’s known for years that Ellie is the woman for him—even if he hasn’t been all that happy about it.
But Ellie isn’t the same girl he left behind, and Bastien has grown into a man Ellie can’t stop thinking about.
With werewolf mating season coming, the future of the Reave Pack is at stake, and neither of them are going to be able to fight their nature for long…
Alpha Next Door is the first book in what I hope becomes a long-running series. I tend to become absorbed by the worlds I write about and that translates into lots of connected stories. I enjoy revisiting characters I’ve gotten to know in previous books. If you read the book, I hope you enjoy it!
I know this is going to sound kind of crazy, but I had a total change of heart on my cover and have a NEW cover to reveal. :) I did love the original cover I purchased, but I decided I wanted to go in a slightly different direction with the series branding, since I am very interested in this being a series. I’m very likely to write more books for the Reave boys (and possibly for the Barker boys too) if there’s any interest at all, because I adore these characters and this world. So if you pick up the book, like what you read, and want more, please let me know by leaving a review where you bought it, or emailing me, and I’ll get started on a follow up ASAP! :D
And here is the new cover:
Ta da! Isn’t it lovely? Bastien looks so manly here, doesn’t he? ;)
Oh, and the book is coming out in the next day or three! I’ll post an update as soon as it’s live. :)
I’ve been holding off releasing the title or book cover but realized today that the cover designer had already posted the book to their portfolio so it doesn’t seem all that necessary to keep it under wraps any longer. :)
So, the title of my book is Alpha Next Door. I’ve had this title in mind for a year and I started the book on a bit of a lark after a conversation with my sister about how much I love werewolves (we’re both huge fans of a certain wolfy series that comes on MTV) but how I didn’t really enjoy the dark stories that much. I mean, I can write dark, don’t get me wrong, but I have a wacky sense of humor sometimes and when I read, I like books that are lighthearted and funny, while also fulfilling my desire for all the usual werewolf stuff like strong men and feisty women.
I couldn’t have been hit harder by a plot bunny if it’d been driving a 4×4 straight at me and I sat down that very night and wrote out the two opening scenes of this book. The story idea hasn’t left me alone since. The book is almost ready and I can’t wait to release it. If even one person other than myself enjoys this story, I’ll be thrilled.
The cover is, in my biased opinion, fantastic! (It comes from derangeddoctordesign.com.) I ordered this back in December and I still look at it and squee. :D
So, I’m pushing for a May 31st release date for the first book in my new series under this new pen name! It’s taken me much longer than I planned originally to get here, but I wanted to be sure I’d be able to deliver the series books in a timely manner once I released the first one.
Stay tuned for a cover and title reveal in the next month or two!
I’ve approved the cover for my book! I’m thrilled with how it turned out and I can’t wait to have it in hand. Of course, the book isn’t ready yet and since I don’t have a release date, I’m not planning to reveal the cover (or title) just yet. But soon!
